Acorn Acres Alpaca Farm is located in beautiful rural Ohio, just outside of the quaint village of Columbiana. We are conveniently located 1 hour from Pittsburg, PA., Cleveland and Akron, OH.
Established nearly 10 years ago, Acorn Acres is family owned and operated. Pat and Gloria Chestnut, the proprietors, purchased their first alpaca shortly after a local National Alpaca Farm Days visit in 2007. From that point forward, alpacas became a passion for them and their daughter, April.
Under the Acorn Acres umbrella there are 2 farms, Acorn Acres Alpaca Farm, featuring Huacayas, and Caramel Creek Select Suris (operated by April with her partner Randy Rogers). Currently, there are 46 alpacas and one guard llama in residence. The growing Huacaya and Suri alpaca herds of Acorn Acres feature some of the most desirable bloodlines available in the United States.
A breeding program focusing on healthy alpacas with superior fiber and confirmation has catapulted the farm to a well known, respected status along the eastern seaboard. The Chestnuts travel extensively to show and promote their alpacas and are devoted to educating children about the animals.
Acorn Acres, along with several other alpaca farms in the area, are currently trying to develop an alpaca 4-H group that will enable Columbiana County children to participate at the fair with alpacas.
Additional services offered through the farm include; Professional Shearing Services, Show Handling, Boarding, Birthing, Transport & Brokering Services.
