This young full Accoyo female is rndeveloping beautifully... just take a look at her -- gorgeous head, proud rnupright presence, nice boxy conformation and very strong bone. Her fiber has rntaken on some beautiful traits, as well. It is fine, crimpy and rnbundled.
Her growth has been remarkable as well. At the age of five rnmonths old, she is weighing 85 pounds. She is very healthy and very rnvibrant.
Her dam, China, has been a wonderful producer for us who births rneasily and produces an abundance of milk. All indications are that Ainsley rnshould carry on those positive maternal traits.
Let me give you a little rnbit of background on Ainsley's sire, Prestige. In November 2012 we decided to rnhave Dr. Evans do a skin biopsy on him as a 12-year-old breeding male. Knowing rnthat the recommended age for doing such a skin biopsy is 18-24 months of age, we rnknew that we might be doing a disservice to Prestige. However, Dr. Evans rncomments proved us wrong. Here are his comments:
Prestige is awesome for rna 12 year old male. Density of 62; secondary fibers still average 22.2 microns rnand his primary fibers still average below 30 microns with a spread of 7.4 rnmicrons. The average micron spread in 91 of the better males in 2011 was 8.22 rnmicrons. Prestiges stats are very genetically strong for a 12 year-old. Most 12 rnyear-old huacaya males that I have tested show 1/3 less density as well as rnfineness of fiber. This boy is ahead of his time.
