Snowmass Velvet Legend

Legend comes out of the amazing Snowmass breeding program. His sire is the AOBA World Black Fleece Champion, Snowmass Sterling Legend. Sterling Legend's 5 year fleece was still in the 16 micron range.

Legend's pedigree is heavy with black and grey. And his fleece is no slouch either! With a micron count of 18.3 in his third year, his fineness is holding nicely. In fact his 2013 EPDs are stellar! With an AFD of -1.739 and a ranking in the top 2.5% he can make a big impact on our breeding program and yours! 

Legend has at least seven cria on the ground now and has settled several more girls. Of these cria, five are girls! Check out some of their pix... we are confident that his cria will be knockouts! While we wait for them to grow, we've continued to offer his breedings at an introductory price of $750. But that price will likely rise. Legend has excellent conformation with a square profile, straight legs, correct bite and a wooly top knot. In addition to the fineness, he has a very dense fleece, as you would expect of a Snowmass alpaca. His fleece is also bright and silky, soft with a moderate amplitude crimp that extends up into the neck and down into the belly and legs, and good staple length.
