At his first large show he received a first place ribbon in halter beating a large impressive class of juveniles. He continued to place each show entered. We have one of his males, Antoine, as a working herd sire and one of his females, Eleonora, as a foundation female at Columbia Mist Alpacas.
In 2013 his fiber sorting showed a 7 out of 10 for brightness, 3.5 out of 5 for density, 6 out of 8 for uniformity of micron and a medium amplitude, medium frequency of crimp from cut end to tip at7-8 per inch. Staple length 3.5 to 4 in. He had 54.0 oz. WL & WR grade 4-5 in his blanket and 32.4 oz. WL grade 4-5 in his neck. Sorter said- "nice volume." ( beautiful neck fiber!)
Alamar has great stats as of his 10th shearing. He is in the top 2% for heavy fleece weight, top 4% for staple length, top 12% for spin fineness, and for %>30M, , top 17% for fineness (low micron).
