Sweet Creeks Royal Lucy is an excellent foundation dam that you won't want to pass up. She has ribbon winning lineage, great conformation, and produces sturdy, healthy crias consistently.

Lucy's lineage comes from a short, yet impressive list of Peruvian imports. Her sire is Bear, a multiple ribbon winner and son of 4Peruvian Altiplano Gold, one of the first imports from Peru to have offspring that consistently won color champions. Altiplano Gold won the Get-Of-Sire Award 4 years in a row between 2003-2004. His genetics are limited as he passed away in 2009.

Lucy's Dam is Condor Lightning, whose sire is 4Peruvian Royal Condor, one of the original Peruvian imports, known for his true black, fine, dense fleece, characteristics. Lucy passes this great lineage along to her crias when paired with a high quality sire.

Rich, soft, and silky, Lucy's true black fleece is a favorite of hand spinners and knitters alike. Her rich, deep black color is consistent and her crimp has a medium frequency style.

Lucy's personality also makes her a favorite around the farm. She halters and handles well, is social with both alpacas and people. She is an excellent herdmate to her fellow alpacas.

Look no further if you are looking for a dependable, solid foundation female. Lucy is all that and more. She is average in weight, and maintains her weight and health during pregnancy and nursing. Her conformation is spot on and while she is slightly above average in size (she is a bit tall), she is well balanced with a solid square stance. She is also easily bred (usually on first attempt), and is a easy birther with no assistance. She has plenty of milk for her crias, and is both attentive and protective of them.

Lucy's offspring are healthy and weight on average about 16-18 pounds. They are up and nursing within the first 30 minutes of life, and are robust and healthy. This makes Lucy an ideal foundation female that is easy to maintain.

When bred to color, Lucy also produces color (including grey, when bred to grey) but even more impressive, she passes on the fleece characteristics and density of the sire. Her offspring also inherit her gentle personality, and have the potential to be award winning champions.
