Her fleece is very fine with brightness, uniform, and dense with bundling, combining the best traits of her sire and dam.
Her dam, Sonshine Alpaca's Avilon is a maroon female, who has a fine uniform fleece, even when pregnant. Avilon's sire is VF Prince Charming, with genetics from Silver Charm, and the Silversmith. She also has genetics from Shacklton on her dam's side. Her sire, Accoyo America Thunderbird, is a medium fawn male with well defined crimp, bundling, and is very dense. He is the son of the infamous Accoyo America Endurance from Pacific Crest Alpacas.
Avilon took 4th place at Alpacapalooza show 2009 in a large competitive juvinile dark brown female class. She also took 3rd place at Northwest Alpaca Showcase 2009. She and her two brothers Excalibur and Galahad took 6th place in a class of 12 for Breeders Best Three at Alpacapalooza 2009. They also placed 6th in a class of 13 for Get of Sire at Northwest Alpaca Showcase 2009. She has given birth and nursed her cria with no complications or issues.
In his only showing in 2007, Thunderbird placed second at the AOBA National Show in a large class of Juvenile Medium Fawn Males. He placed 2nd in halter at the highly competitive Level 5 Alpacapalooza show 2008 at 18 months of age. With a genetic background that includes Caligula and Accoyo Endurance (and thus Camilio and Auzengate), this herdsire is a dominate male.
