His sire, Accoyo America Diomedes, ranks in the top 1% for AFD, SDAFD, SF %F>30, MC, SDMC in the 2013 EPD stats! Dirk is doing great himself in the 2013 EPD rankings: Average Fiber Diameter 203rd of 14637 or top 1.4% Standard Deviation AFD top 0.6% Spin Fineness top 1.09% % Fibers>30 micron ranking in top 3.1% MC Mean Curvature ranks top 0.5% Standard Deviation MC top 1.3% Diomedes' Dirk's pedigree is a recipe for greatness! His lineage includes the Nautilus line - outstanding and legendary, ribbon-winning champions that include: Guellermo, Michelangelo, Onyx de Mico, Hemingway, Caligula, and Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus to name a few! As soon as he was born it was apparent Dirk had remarkable fleece, would do well in the show ring and produce champions of his own.
Dirk's sire, Accoyo America's Diomedes, has that perfect combination of fineness and density with brightness, and he has passed that on to Dirk...in lights and in color! Diomedes' is a multiple blue ribbon winner, color champion and reserve color champion. And his offspring are fabulous, with his son Dirk being no exception. The histograms on Diomedes' offspring are fabulous! Of the 11 that were tested in 2010, all but three fell under 17 microns (with those 3 at 17.2, 19.1, 19.2,) and the SD's ranged from 2.9 to 3.7. Second year histograms on Diomedes' superfine progeny show that of the nine yearlings tested in 2010, all but two were under 18 microns. Spectacular. Diomedes' Dirk is no exception, and is passing on these legendary Accoyo qualities to his own offspring with his gorgeous head, fabulous fleece, and an attitude that says "I'm tops!"
Dirk has a very upright presence and a compact, boxy build along with that beautiful head of his champion sire. Dirk's Dam Kenzie is sired by Onyx de Mico (BB), a two-time AOBA blue ribbon winner, out of the Pperuvian Guellermo line with Michelangelo as his sire. Mike Safley commented on the "excellent fleece" of Onyx and Dr. Julio Sumar spoke of his "perfect conformation." Kenzie has Onyx's best qualities and brings color in her lineage to her son Dirk ranging from MB to TB. Diomedes' Dirk's sister (Diomedes' Dehlia) took a blue ribbon in the Beige Juvenile Female class in 2008 and then NW Alpaca Showcase Judge, Sharon Loner, gave Dehlia the blue ribbon nod and the Reserve Championship at not quite 8 months of age. She has gone on to produce Blue ribbon winners as well. Diomedes' Dirk's has spectacular fleece with superb histograms through his fifth year (awaiting 2014 stats). Judge Jill McLeod gave him a good hard look and commented several times on the CONSISTENCY of his fleece on shoulder, midside, and hip and as she placed him first in a competitive halter class at Northwest Alpaca Showcase 2010. When Robyn Kuhl sorted Dirk's fiber in 2011, among her comments she noted that he scored "8 in brightness, 9 in uniformity, 8 in density, with 8 crimps per inch in the blanket and 10 in the neck, and a good secondary to primary ratio.
Dirk is a gentleman with the ladies and very easy to handle for his owners. Don't miss out on getting these legendary Accoyo and color genetics! Give us a call to reserve your breeding today!
