Torrefacto--it's a delicious Spanish coffee bean that is finely coated in sugar before roasting. Yumm! That describes our Torrefacto to a "T"! He's a true black son of our Champion black herdsire, Dundee's AJ Stormcat and our multiple-championship fawn gal, Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Siqay. His dam took Reserve Color Champion in Fleece at the AOBA/International Fleece show in 2009, and our Torrefacto combines the best qualities of both of his parents. His sire comes from very black bloodlines known for retention of fineness, great coformation, and Torrefacto shares his sire's mellow temperament. His dam has incredibly dense, crimped fleece with a lo-o-ong staple length.
Torrefacto has a correct, compact , strong conformation--he's matured into an impressive macho. His fleece is bright and nicely crimped with a lovely handle and it is almost blue-black in hue. He has the cutest silver/white spot right on the tip of his nose. We think he's going to be something special, and so do the judges--he took a blue ribbon his first time out in the ring, and another 1st of 6 at the California Classic. I've just skirted his 2012 blanket for the fleece shows--he has fine fleece with a lovely handle, brightness, and nice bundling. It's yummy!---WOW--his 2013 fleece is EVEN BETTER--and it took RESERVE CHAMPION at the show! He's developed well-defined bundles with very high frequency crimp, brightness, and consistency of crimp. Torrefacto took 1st and Color Champion in the 2014 AlpacaMania Fleece show--with his 4rth Fleece! His dam, Inti-Siqay is really kicking in with her AOBA/International Championship fleece!
Torrefacto is 2 1/2 years old, and has settled his first 2 girls--No Problem! Both are spitting and ultrasound-proven to be pregnant and due in June, 2015!
***Seller reserves 2 breedings to Torrefacto--drive by or will pay agistment for female. We don't want to lose out on this genetic power-house!
