Cashmino is phenotypically white but genotypically fawn--his beige dam is the daughter of a light fawn female (Snowmass Cashmina) bred to the beige living legend, Snowmass Matrix (Cashmina subsequently sold for $40K at the Snowmass auction in 2011). His sire is a medium fawn Snowmass male with lovely bright and silky fleece, fabulously long and flowing bundles. He has lots of Hemingway in his bloodlines. One look at Cashmino and you know you are looking at the product of the revered Snowmass breeding program--his compact and correct conformation, length of staple, brightness, high frequency crimp and fineness, and overall presence give it away!
At his first show, the judge loved his strong, well-balanced frame and his fine, dense, and well-crimped fleece. Peter Kennedy from Australia was the judge at the California Classic; he praised his overall presence as a "beautiful Macho", along with his fine, dense, bright fleece and excellent fleece architecture.
Amanda VandenBosch appreciated his long staple length and architecture.
Add to this, he is a calm, sweet boy who is easy to handle. He will begin his breeding career this summer.
Cashmino has moved to his new home in coastal Marin County, north of San Francisco, at Alpacas of Marin!
Cashmino is a father! His first cria was born at Derwydd Alpacas in early April, 2015. He's a proven Herdsire!
