rnrnCrescent Moon's Augustus is a beautiful, bay black full fleeced, multi ribbon winning malernof quality lineage, exceptional fiber coverage and density. He would be an outstanding herdsire for any ranch, passing on fantastic colored fleece attributes, as well as ribbon winning genetics.
Augustus has a fantastic lineage. His sire is Peruvian Achenar a dark brown full Peruvian, multi-blue ribbon, color and reserve champion winner. Highlights of his impressive career include 2004 blue ribbon and color champion at the Wild West Alpaca Show and The Great Western Alpaca Show and AWE - blue ribbon. He placed 2nd at the AAA Futurity and 3rd at the the IAO. Achenar is still a magnificent male with extreme coverage, beautiful head, and perfect proportions; it's his fleece that will really get you. Dense and very fine with a high frequency crimp style; this fleece would look and feel good in any color. Achenar does have some white fibers in his fleece, and that hurt him a bit in the show ring, keeping him from taking all the blue ribbons and reserve championships; but it didn't interfere in his passing fantastic 17 micron fleece and genetics to his progeny.
Augustus' paternal grandsire is Peruvian CL9 Altair. Altair is a medium fawn full Peruvian male out of Peruvian Aladdin. He is a multi-blue ribbon winning male. Many of his offspring have also graced the show ring further proving his worth. He has a commanding presence at all times, his gorgeous fleece is awe-inspiring, and he has a beautiful head and a great temperament.
Augustus' maternal grandsire is the famous Outlaw Josey Wales, who swept 2000 and 2001 blue ribbons at the AOBA National Conference and Spin Offs. Josey hails from Peruvian Demetrio and Bob Marley lineage and is a fantastic bay black that has incredibly fine, dense crimpy fleece that has been passed down to Augustus!
Augustus won multiple blue ribbons, color championships and reserve color champions in his show career. Especially in 2007 (the year Apple-Co purchased him from the Parade of Champions) he swept the show rings with his fantastic presence, fleece and exceptional qualities. He won the Blue Ribbon and Color Championships at the TxOLAN, and at the 2006 AOBA National Show placed 2nd. 2006 AWE 2nd and IAO won both Blue Ribbon and Reserve Black Male Color Champion.
As a two year old, he started hisrnbreeding career for the 2008 season by settling his first 4 females. First criarnhit the ground on July 4th, 2009 and like their father, they are exceptional. His current offspring exhibitrnwonderful consistent fiber coverage great conformation, and are ribbon winners themselves.
With outstanding multi-blue and reserve champion color and fleece genetics stamped onto his cria, Crescent Moon's Augustus would be an exceptional addition to any herd.
