Basil's grandsire sire, 5Peruvian Santana, is an AOBA 2000 Blue Ribbon winner in halter competition and the AOBA 2003 and 2004 Blue Ribbon fleece. Basil's granddam Dona Perlas is also a multiple ribbon winner. Dona was the 2001 PAOBA Breeders Showcase Reserve Color Champ for grey females. Dona's sire is 6Peruvian Dom Timbo 5042, a superb dark silver grey hersire owned by Magical Farms.

Basil's fiber is exquisite in both fineness and crimp, coupled with excellent density. He has a wonderful dark rose grey color, his fiber also has a fine, yet high frequency crimp.
